How We Work
For first-timers, the process of outsourcing development work - especially to a
different country - can seem intimidating. Following is a brief overview of
how working with delaPlex can be time-efficient, cost-effective, and safe.
How do I get started?
First, contact us to schedule a meeting, either in-person or via teleconference,
to discuss your needs. Our account development staff will listen carefully
to help determine the type of qualifications necessary to provide you with the services
you require, and will go over with you how the process works, how we protect your
intellectual property, the cost of the service, etc.
How much does it cost?
Rather than “bidding” on your development work by the project, we provide you with
a dedicated team of developers that works for you and you only. You pay a
monthly retainer to keep those developers, who quickly become familiar with your
company’s assets, at your disposal just like a full-time employee in your office.
However, due to the significantly lower cost of operations in India, the cost of
this team can often be the same as, or less than, the costs of adding one developer
to your permanent staff in your office.
How many developers are typically on a team?
Your personal development team is typically made up of four members, but you are
only charged for three. One team member will be your concierge, with whom
you communicate directly regarding your needs and that person will direct the efforts
of the other team members. This concierge has excellent spoken and written
English language skills.
What about my intellectual property and trade
secrets? I don’t want to entrust my source code to just anybody.
Intellectual property is a subject near and dear to our hearts. Each team
of developers with delaPlex is firewalled away from each other team, and all are
bound by strong nondisclosure agreements as a condition of hire. Your IP is
as safe as it is with your own in-house staff - or, sad to say, often safer!
How long does it take to get my development
work done?
This is an open-ended question which, of course, cannot be given a specific answer,
as it depends upon the complexity of the work involved. If you are located
in the Western Hemisphere, it is not uncommon to submit a set of specifications
and changes and wake up in the morning to be amazed at the results in your inbox.
The time difference facilitates an efficient process of review/test during your
workday and submit changes at the end of the day, and development work taking place
while you sleep, performed by developers who are not distracted by the day-to-day
operations of your office.
